The Faculty is localized in a new building at 14a Joliot-Curie Street in Wroc\u0142aw. The Faculty is composed of<span style=\"color: #000000;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">&nbsp;13 departments and 2 laboratories. <\/span>It employs about 100 people, including 56 researchers. The Faculty is headed by prof. dr hab. Dorota Nowak (Dean), in collaboration with dr hab. Daniel Krowarsch (Vice-Dean) and prof. dr hab Dagmara Jakimowicz (Vice-Dean for Students Affairs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ugb-container ugb-container ugb-002ab8b ugb-container--v2 ugb-container--design-plain ugb-main-block\"><style>@media screen and (min-width:768px){.ugb-002ab8b.ugb-container{margin-bottom:0% !important;margin-right:6% !important;margin-left:6% !important}}@media screen and (min-width:768px){.ugb-002ab8b > .ugb-inner-block > .ugb-block-content > *{padding-top:0px !important;padding-bottom:0px !important;padding-right:0px !important;padding-left:0px !important}}<\/style><div class=\"ugb-inner-block\"><div class=\"ugb-block-content\"><div class=\"ugb-container__wrapper ugb-002ab8b-wrapper\"><div class=\"ugb-container__side\"><div class=\"ugb-container__content-wrapper ugb-002ab8b-content-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-top tekst-zdjece-kwadrat tekst-zdjece-kwadrat-p\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p><strong>The Faculty holds the right to confer the degrees of Doctor and Habilitated Doctor<\/strong> in the disciplines of medical sciences, biomedical engineering and biotechnology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Faculty staff conduct research in biotechnology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, microbiology, immunology, virology, cell biology, and plant physiology<\/strong>. We collaborate with numerous scientific centers in Poland and abroad, and in recent years with companies in the biotechnology industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2013 the Faculty has, in successive evaluations, received the prestigious Category A rating awarded by the Committee for the Evaluation of Scientific Units. This highest scientific category comes with increased statutory research funding and enhanced eligibility to apply for EU grants. Between 2014 and 2018 the Faculty was a member the consortium Wroc\u0142aw Centre for Biotechnology, whose interdisciplinary character enabled a comprehensive and wide-ranging spectrum of conducting and implementing scientific research. Close cooperation among consortium partners ensured synergistic action and high efficiency in translating basic research findings into new technologies and transferring knowledge to industry. The consortium was granted the status of KNOW (National Leading Scientific Center). The Faculty hosts the editorial office of the journal Cellular and Molecular Biology Letters (CMBL), which for several years has ranked among the most prestigious periodicals in molecular biology.<\/p>\n<\/div><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/biotech.uwr.edu.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/261\/2022\/09\/zajecia-dla-szkol-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Laboratorium\" class=\"wp-image-39226 size-full\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide is-stacked-on-mobile tekst-zdjecie-poziom tekst-zdjecie-poziom-l\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/biotech.uwr.edu.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/261\/2022\/09\/biotechnologia-fot.-Magdalena-Marcula-Biuro-ds.-Promocji-UWr-81-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Mikroskop\" class=\"wp-image-39190 size-full\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p><strong>Studies at the Faculty of Biotechnology follow a three-cycle system<\/strong>: bachelor\u2019s (3 years), master\u2019s (2 years, as well as a uniform 5-year master\u2019s program), and doctoral (4 years). We also offer English-language programs at all levels. Currently, around 500 students are enrolled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We enable students to participate in faculty research projects as well as in foreign internships and placements. Students can also join the Student Scientific Society of Biotechnologists \u201cPrzybysz.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our graduates are very well prepared for work in research, clinical, and industrial laboratories. A faculty tradition is organizing lectures and workshops as part of the Lower Silesian Science Festival. The Faculty\u2019s educational offerings also include a series of lectures and hands-on workshops designed for middle and high school students.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"bs__links\">\r\n
